An evidence-based Strength Training Program for women and men of all ages, with a special emphasis on those 40 years of age and older.
Spring classes started in early March. Dates and class times will be posted later for fall classes, which are expected to start in September.

Classes run for 9 weeks. Cost is $15 for the whole series. Each class is one hour long.

Gilman – Classes are held in the County Meeting Room
Mon/Thur 9:00-10:00 a.m.
Mon/Thurs 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Goodrich – Class is held at the Goodrich Town Hall
Mon/Wed 9:00-10:00 a.m.
Medford – Classes are held in the Multipurpose Room at the Taylor County Fairgrounds
Mon/Wed 8:30-9:30 a.m. (Advanced class – must have participated in at least one previous class)
Mon/Wed 4:15-5:15 p.m.
Tues/Thur 8:00-9:00 a.m
Rib Lake – Classes are held at the Senior site
Tues/Thurs 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Tues/Thurs 4:00-5:00 p.m.
This Strength Training Program includes:
- progressive resistance training
- balance training
- flexibility exercises
Each class begins with a five to ten minute warm up that may include walking, marching, or light calisthenics, e.g. toe touches. Two different sets of resistance training routines, each with eight to ten exercises, work all of the major muscles groups, using a combination of dumbbells, adjustable ankle weights, and body weight. Classes conclude with a five- to ten-minute cooldown that includes upper and lower body flexibility exercises.
