- What can we do in 4-H?
- American Spirit Leadership Experience
- Grades 7, 8 & 9 (as of Sept. 1); approximate cost is $950, but the participant pays approximately $240 (this includes some meals, transportation and lodging). A video of the experience can be checked out from the office. Mandatory orientation will be scheduled.
- Bring projects to the Taylor County Fair
- Participating in projects that may be brought to the fair is available to youth of all ages. By completing a project, youth are able to explore many different areas of interest. Youth also gain hands-on experience and knowledge while having fun.
- Citizenship Washington Focus
- Each year youth in grades 10, 11 & 12 (as of Sept. 1) travel by bus to Washington D.C. for a week-long program at the National 4-H Center, with a stop overnight and a tour in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in route. Participants learn the importance of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders. The week consists of participatory workshops, speakers, committee work, off-site experiences including a day on Capitol Hill and social events. Approximate cost is $1000 (participant pays approximately $250 plus about $100 in expenses). A video is available. If you register for this trip, but back out, you are responsible for the total cost unless someone else can be found to replace you. Mandatory orientation will be scheduled. - International Programs
- The Wisconsin 4-H offers international programs for its 4-H members. For more information please click here.
- National 4-H Dairy Conference
- Each year 4-H youth who participated in dairy projects are invited down for a conference in conjunction with the World Dairy Expo. The conference consists of youth learning about production, marketing, processing, and uses of dairy products. Youth are also able to explore the World Dairy Expo. Youth must have participated in the dairy project for at least 3 years including the current year. Youth must also be in grades 11th or 12th and no older than 18 years of age. Youth may also not show or exhibit animals at the World Dairy Expo or participate in the National 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest while at the National 4-H Dairy Conference. - National Congress
- This is available to youth in grades 10, 11 & 12 (as of Sept. 1). Delegates participate in self-development seminars, tours, and a service project, while exchanging ideas with youth from across the country. The approximate cost is $925 (participant pays approximately $232). Mandatory orientation will be scheduled. For more information please click here.
- Summer Camp
- Each June youth are invited to attend an overnight Summer Camp at Trails End in Bruce, Wisconsin. Camp counselors and chaperones are always needed. Anyone interested in being a camp counselor or chaperone is asked to fill out an application (.pdf).
- Space Camp
- Each April youth in grades 6,7 & 8 (as of Sept. 1) are invited to attend Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama for a long weekend. At this event youth get to go on a simulated space mission and learn about the space program while exchanging ideas with youth from across Wisconsin. The approximate cost is $490 (partipant pays approximately $120). Mandatory orientation will be scheduled. (No MPE required.) - State 4-H Youth Conference
- This is available to youth in grades 8, 9 & 10 (as of Sept. 1). Cost is approximately $200 with the Federation contributing $100 per delegate. Express your interest to your 4-H Club Leader so that they can nominate you for this Conference. (No MPE required.) For more information please click here.
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Night
- Youth are invited to attend STEM Night to explore various science projects. This event is held the third Monday of each month from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at the USDA service center in Medford.
- Youth Leaders Organization (YLO)
- Youth in grades 8 and above are invited to join the Youth Leaders and become a self-governing and funded organization. In this organization youth learn responsibility, leadership and life skills.
- NOTE: There may be some other possibilities for trips. If you have an interest in a particular area that is not being offered in the tentative list of trips, please indicate what your main area of interest is on your gold “Trip Selection Form.” Be sure to check with the Executive Board about any unlisted request.
- NOTE: Youth applying for Citizenship Washington Focus, American Spirit Leader Ship Experience, and National Congress are required to fill out a Member Program Evaluation (MPE) form. These forms are also due to the UW-Extension office in August. Call if you want the MPE forms to submit with your Record Book – (715) 748-3327
- Yearly 4-H Forms
- Health Form (.pdf)
- The Health Statement is to be filled out when a youth or adult will be participating in an extended 4-H event. A new form needs to be filled out for each event in order to be up to date on medical conditions.
- Due: Due before youth or adults are participating in an extended 4-H event.
- Member Enrollment Form (.pdf)
- The youth enrollment form is a form that needs to be filled out each year. The enrollment form is used for contact information as well as information for 4-H projects. For more information about filling out the enrollment form please see the 4-H Enrollment Guidelines.
- Due: For past members the enrollment form is due in November, while new members can join at any time throughout the year.
- Member Expectation Statement (.pdf)
- The Expectation Statement for Youth is a form that needs to be filled out each year. The Expectation Statement for Youth is used to inform youth about what is expected of them when participating in 4-H.
- Due: Due when Youth Enrollment Form is turned in.
- Record Book (.pdf)
- The 4-H Record Book is a summary of what you have done for the year. The forms that must be included in each member’s record book are: Younger Member Annual 4-H Summary, Junior 4-H Project Financial Record, or One of the four specialized Financial Forms (required for all projects you are requesting awards in), Photo Sheet (optional), Completed Project Work Books (when available), Examples of Youth Leadership (if applicable).
